• Sand whistling over freshly made footprints
• cold wind touches the surf of a colder sea
• a leaf from a distant tree lays uncharacteristcally
• upon the surface of a pool of salt water
• a time to wrap up warm with scarves and hats
• a time to walk fast towards a warm fire
• beach huts lay empty of life when only a month ago
• buckets and spades filled the dunes with laughter
• kite people still brave the waves skipping and flying
• gulls scavenge every morsel searching the last chip
• clouds of migrating geese finding a place to rest
• year after year coming here to a place they know best.
